  114. Claudette D. –

My students that get work done quickly and well are enjoying this challenge. It is doing just what I wanted it to do, challenge them to think. I did have to give a few hints on some to keep them trying to figure it out. I also told them they had to do them in order. When I have a free minute I call them up to check and see how they did and to encourage them to keep trying. I think students are quick to give up so we have to encourage them to see what they learned from their first effort and how that directs what they try next. I also tell them not to erase their first try but use it to make a new decision.
